Prince Harry Takes Up Job at BetterUp

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have renounced their full-time roles working as members of the British monarch and moved to California. As Prince Harry takes up a new job at BetterUp, the Duke of Sussex and his wife have become the latest British royals to go for more financial independence from the monarchy.

BetterUp confirmed Prince Harry’s new appointment in a blog post after The Wall Street Journal first reported the news.

The Wall Street Journal cited an email from Prince Harry where he responded to why he is taking the new job at BetterUp. He noted in his response:

“I intend to help create impact in people’s lives. Proactive coaching provides endless possibilities for personal development, increased awareness, and an all-round better life.”

As the chief impact officer at BetterUp, Prince Harry will participate in product strategy decisions and charitable contributions. The prince will also advocate publicly on topics that focus on mental health.

In the blog post, Prince Harry mentioned his goal as he takes up the new role. He noted:

“As BetterUp’s first Chief Impact Officer, my goal is to lift up critical dialogues around mental health, build supportive and compassionate communities, and foster an environment for honest and vulnerable conversations. And my hope is to help develop their inner strength, resilience, and confidence.”

Four Key Areas for Chief Impact Officer

Prince Harry stated that he would be focusing on four key areas as the chief impact officer at BetterUp. As highlighted in the blog post, the areas include driving advocacy and awareness for mental fitness. Another key area is “guiding BetterUp’s social mission and impact to bring the science of peak performance and human potential into the hands of people worldwide.”

Additionally, the newly-appointed chief impact officer plans to influence the vision of BetterUp’s platform, community, and member experience. Prince Harry also intends to focus on expanding BetterUp’s global community through outreach and strategic planning.

The CEO of BetterUp, Alexi Robichaux, expressed his pleasure and excitement as he welcomed Prince Harry on board. The CEO commented:

“We are energized by his model of inspiration and impact through action. As a true citizen of the world, he has dedicated his life’s work to bringing attention to the universe needs of people everywhere and advocating for mental health initiatives….”

Also, Robichaux said Prince Harry would expand on the work he has been doing over the past year. The CEO said the chief impact officer would educate the community on mental fitness.
