Cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com has petitioned a Florida court to confirm a judgement in its favor through arbitration after the platform mistakenly deposited $50,000 into a user’s account. According to the July 6 court filing, Crypto.com “erroneously deposited” $50,000 into James Deutero McJunkins’ account in June 2022, despite the user seemingly not earning the funds through trades or other activity. Nevada financial regulator petitions court to place Prime Trust into receivership

Following the filing of a cease and desist order, Nevada’s Financial Institutions Division has again moved against crypto custodian Prime Trust by petitioning for the appointment of a receiver. In a June 26 filing, the regulator petitioned the Eighth Judicial District Court of Nevada for a temporary restraining order and an order appointing a receiver to Prime Trust Technologies, which would include its crypto custodian arm. Sam Bankman-Fried is seeking to use FTX’s insurance policies to cover his legal expenses, according to a court filing on March 15.  The former FTX CEO’s legal counsel requested in a motion to permit insurers to advance or reimburse his defense costs and fees under directors and officers (D&O) insurance policies held with Relm Insurance and Beazley Insurance.
