We headed back to @Danhurd famous Blue Chip claim, and the results did not disappoint.
It’s January, freezing cold, and the ground is solid—but that didn’t stop us from heading underground to find the high-grade ore we missed last time. After realizing the vein was actually 10 inches thick (not 6!), we started uncovering massive sulfides and “sludgy” pyrrhotite pockets that the old mining reports say are loaded with gold—up to 5 oz per ton!
Watch as we navigate the tight tunnels, discuss the fascinating geology of how these horizontal quartz veins were formed, and finally hit a pocket of wire gold and high-silver ore that had us all scrambling for the loupe.
This is just the beginning. We’ve bagged up hundreds of pounds of ore to take back to the shop for processing. Stay tuned for Part 2 to see the final gold pour!
