Klaytn, introduced by messaging app Kakao’s blockchain arm Ground X, went live in 2019 and now has “millions of users in Korea,” it said. Its KLAY token has over $880 million market cap, CoinGecko data show, making it the 66th largest cryptocurrency. The Reserve Bank of Australia weighs in the central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) race to explore use cases for a CBDC in the country.
