BOScoin signed an MOU with GG56 Corporation Limited and PayExpress to create a blockchain-based payment solution for tourists. Through the MOU, a blockchain-based payment solution using BOScoin will be added to kiosk ticketing services in the second quarter of next year at tourist attractions located both domestic and abroad, while GG56 will eligible for BOScoin’s “Public Financing (PF)” program to raise funds, BOScoin said in a press statement.
eToroX, the digital asset subsidiary of global investment platform eToro, has been granted a distributed ledger technology license from the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (GFSC). eToroX focuses on blockchain and cryptoassets and offers an infrastructure to support the growth of tokenized assets. It provides eToro’s newly-launched wallet and will run the forthcoming exchange.
Western Union is ready to add any kind of new currency to its offerings including cryptocurrencies, according to the company’s President Odilon Almeida. In an interview, Almeida said, “We already operate with 130 currencies. If one day we feel like it is the right strategy to introduce cryptocurrencies to our platform, technology-wise, it’s just one more currency.”
Bram Cohen, the creator of BitTorrent, is working on a cryptocurrency called Chia that could kill Bitcoin. Cohen is designing the cryptocurrency that would maintain the decentralized properties of Bitcoin but won’t require the power, Breaker magazine reports. Chia will be based on proof-of-space rather than proof-of-work, meaning the network will use hard disk space rather than computing power for the mining process.
The Tunisian Internet Agency has agreed to provide hosting services for the Russian blockchain platform Universa, Cointelegraph reports. The agency has signed a 10-year renewable strategic partnership with Universa to provide hosting services for the platform and facilitate its further development. The ATI is managed by the Ministry of Communications to promote Internet usage in the country.
