The Future of the Internet – Blockchain News, Opinion, TV and Jobs

The internet has undergone two major transformations since its inception. The first was the transition from a read-only web to a read-write web, enabled by the development of HTML and HTTP. Blockchain active users can be misleading metric: Crypto data scientist

Active user count can be a misleading metric for measuring the state of a crypto ecosystem as a small group of users can generate a significant portion of activity across multiple wallets, argues the co-founder of a blockchain analytics provider. 0xScope’s co-founder and chief data scientist, Philip Torres, told Cointelegraph amid the Bitget EmpowerX Summit that between monopolistic founding entities, bots, exploiters and airdrop hunters — as much as 80% of blockchain activity can be generated by just a small number of entities — despite looking healthy on the outside.…

Fabian Vogesteller’s Lukso Blockchain Adds ‘Universal Profiles,’ in Push for ‘Fancy’ Ethereum

Currently, the most common type of blockchain accounts, known as Externally Owned Accounts (EOA), have limited recovery options; if a user loses their private key, their crypto holdings are lost forever. EOA accounts also can’t attach information that could be read by other smart contracts, and transaction fees cannot be paid by other parties as well on an EOA, meaning the user is in charge of providing fees for gas. Blockchain could be used to authenticate the real from what is generated by artificial intelligence, Congressman Tom Emmer suggested Sept. 11 at the Permissionless II conference. That would combine nicely with other progress being seen in United States cryptocurrency policy, he said. Speaking on a panel, Emmer began on a cautious note, saying the recent Ripple and Grayscale wins in court are still subject to appeal. But an upcoming United States Supreme Court ruling “is going to perhaps […] put a stake into the heart of the administrative state.” Emmer…

Avalanche’s HyperSDK blockchain upgrade hits 143K TPS on testnet

Smart contract layer-1 blockchain network Avalanche’s testnet has reportedly hit over 140,000 transactions per second during testing of its HyperSDK blockchain upgrade. According to Ava Labs, HyperSDK is structured so that developers can “plug into a lightning-fast execution environment without writing massive amounts of code from scratch.” This enables the simplification and acceleration of custom VM development, making it easier for developers to launch optimized blockchains. HyperSDK reached a whopping 143,322 transactions per…

Blockchain Association responds to US lawmakers’ request for crypto tax guidance
