Bitcoin sank below $59,000 having spent much of the weekend above the $60,000 mark. BTC traded around $58,550 in the European morning, a drop of 2.4% over 24 hours at the start of a week in which traders worldwide expect the Federal Reserve to make its first interest-rate cut in more than four years. Flappy Bird was pulled from both the Apple App Store and Google Play in February 2014 as its creator, Dong Nguyen, blamed himself for the game’s addictive nature and didn’t appreciate the fame the title’s worldwide success brought him along with allegations that he stole art and character designs from Nintendo. Kalshi, which won a significant victory in court last week when a federal judge ruled its political prediction markets should be allowed to trade in the U.S., said the CFTC wouldn’t suffer any major harm if its new contracts were allowed to trade during the appeal process, but the company would “suffer substantial – indeed, irreparable – harm” if it’s blocked from letting people bet on the outcome of the 2024 elections. Sam Bankman-Fried Appeals Fraud Conviction, Requests New Trial: NYT

Several of Bankman-Fried’s closest friends and colleagues – including his ex-girlfriend Caroline Ellison, Nishad Singh, Gary Wang, and Ryan Salame – testified against him during his trial, and pleaded guilty to their own counts of fraud.
