Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong Announces Soon-To-Be-Released Documentary About Crypto Exchange Giant

A new documentary about crypto exchange Coinbase and the digital assets industry will be released on popular video streaming platforms on Friday.

Coinbase chief executive Brian Armstrong says that over the last three years, the company has been working with 10-time Emmy award-winning director Greg Kohs for the new film entitled COIN.

“We gave Greg and his team unprecedented access inside the company, showing the crazy ups and downs of building a tech startup all the way to us becoming  a public company. He shows it all – the good, bad, and ugly.”

Armstrong says he green-lighted the production of the documentary hoping that it could help demystify crypto and tech startups.

“The world tends to either vilify founders or put them on a pedestal. Neither is true – they’re just regular people trying to make something that people want. And everyone working in crypto believes it can create a more fair, free, and global financial system.

My belief is that technology is the best lever we have to solve the world’s problems and improve the human condition, and I want to encourage more people to start tech companies. So I decided to pull back the curtain and show people what it’s really like.”

The executive, who has previously called for the US to pass crypto regulations that can encourage domestic innovation, urges policy makers to see the film.

“I hope you all go and see the film – and that policy makers see it as well. I believe it will help advance the cause of cryptocurrency, showing the motivations of the many hard working people driving this industry forward.”

The documentary will be available on Amazon Prime, Apple TV and Vimeo.
