Immutable Integrates Transak for Seamless Transactions Web3 Games

The partnership between Immutable and Transak will grant all games built on the Immutable zkEVM access to Transak’s suite of products, enabling players to make seamless transactions across games and marketplaces.

Web3 game development platform Immutable is set to integrate Transak into its gaming development infrastructure. The integration will make Transak the primary payment service provider for Immutable’s zero-knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine (zkEVM).

Transak will directly power fiat and Web3-based payments in gaming environments and will be integrated into Immutable Checkout and Immutable Passport. This is in line with Immutable’s goal of offering a “more efficient and user-friendly experience in digital asset transactions for gamers”.

Unlike other chains designed to support a wide range of applications and smart contract functionality, the Immutable zkEVM chain is dedicated to game development. It offers developers EVM compatibility, low cost, speed, enterprise-grade security and massive scale.

Transak Product Stack for Those Building on Immutable zkEVM

The partnership between Immutable and Transak will grant all games built on the Immutable zkEVM access to Transak’s suite of products, enabling players to make seamless transactions across games and marketplaces. Transak’s products include on-ramp, off-ramp and nonfungible token (NFT) checkout. They allow fiat payments through credit and debit cards, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay.

The products will pair well with Immutable’s robust gaming infrastructure products which include Immutable Passport, Immutable Checkout, Immutable Mint, an SDK, and a developer hub.

Transak marketing head Harshit Gangwar told Cointelegraph:

“These products will be used by hundreds of high-quality games over the next couple of years. The majority of those games are scheduled to go live in 2024.”

Michael Powell, Immutable’s Head of Product Marketing confirmed that Transak’s initial integration will feature in the firm’s flagship blockchain games Guild of Guardians, Gods Unchained, and Cross The Ages.

Transak provides payment and onboarding infrastructure designed to connect traditional finance to the digital asset landscape. The firm’s services simplify the purchase and sale of digital assets, including those used in blockchain-based gaming ecosystems. Users from across 160 countries can pay for digital assets using over 20 payment methods. The platform allows payments for more than 170 cryptocurrencies over 75 blockchains.

Transak is used by more than 350 applications, including wallet providers such as MetaMask, Ledger, Trust Wallet, Coinbase Wallet, LBank, Bitcoin.com, Bake (CakeDefi), and PancakeSwap. It is also incorporated into many Web3 games, including those backed by Web3 gaming venture capital firm Animoca Brands. These include Decentraland, Splinterlands, Revv Racing, FormulaE High Voltage and MotoGP Ignite.

Despite the blockchain gaming industry being relatively new, almost half of all blockchain activity in 2022, was from Web3 games. Investment firms such as Animoca have taken a keen interest in the industry, with the latter investing in The Open Network blockchain and its integration into Telegram. The messaging app has upwards of 800 million users, making the move, according to Animoca, a potential mass driver for Web3 gaming adoption.
