Buterin helped establish the Ethereum Foundation (EF), a Swiss non-profit dedicated to the development of the Ethereum ecosystem, but neither he nor the foundation were solely responsible for architecting the networkโs massive shift away from crypto mining. Instead, scores of individual developers, researchers, client teams and volunteers spent thousands of hours over the years, working out the nitty-gritty technicalities of how the shift could be accomplished.
