Key derivatives market metrics show sophisticated traders are turning their attention to ether (ETH) from the recent market standout, bitcoin (BTC), hinting at a potential outperformance of Ethereum’s native token in the coming weeks. Bitcoin has rallied over 60% this quarter, while ether, the supposedly deflationary currency with bond-like appeal and an ESG-compliant label, has lagged big time, gaining just 35%, CoinDesk data show. SEC solicits comments on Fidelity’s spot Ether ETF application

The United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) called on the public to comment on a proposed rule change that could allow asset management firm Fidelity to offer shares of its spot Ether exchange-traded fund, or ETF. In a Nov. 30 notice, the SEC said “interested persons” may comment on the Fidelity offering, proposing the Cboe BZX Exchange list and trade shares of its Fidelity Ethereum Fund. Bitcoin (BTC) Funds Surpass $1.5B of Inflows in 2023; Ether (ETH), Solana (SOL) Funds Lead Altcoin Inflows

Funds holding ether (ETH) experienced $34 million of net inflows last week, extending the positive trend to four consecutive weeks and surpassing $100 million of net inflows during this period. ETH funds now have almost nullified their dismal run of outflows earlier this year, which marks “a decisive turnaround in sentiment” towards the second largest cryptocurrency, CoinShares added.
