Biden’s Executive Order on Crypto Is ‘Balanced’ but ‘Gaps’ Remain
However, “I think the executive order really pointed to the fact that … there’s not a clear picture of exactly all of the different things that need to be put in place to fill some of the existing gaps. But there’s also an acknowledgement of the already long-existing framework that covers so much of the activity in this space, and the fact that absence of sufficient compliance with those long-existing obligations still has to be sufficiently prioritized and enforced,” she said. Is Bitcoin Bottom In? This On-Chain Condition Hasn’t Been Met Yet
A Bitcoin on-chain metric still hasn’t formed the same condition as in the previous bottom, suggesting that the current low may not be in yet. Stablecoin Exchange Inflows (Top 10) Hasn’t Shown Any Spikes Recently As pointed out by an analyst in a CryptoQuant post, the top 10 stablecoin exchange inflows saw a rise during the July 2021 bottom. The “stablecoin exchange inflows (top 10)” is an indicator that measures the sum of the ten largest stablecoin transactions that are heading towards exchanges. The metric includes data of all types…
Countries and institutions move into crypto despite market drop: Report
The crypto markets have been in decline since the start of the second quarter of 2022. Each time it seemed like the apparent crypto winter would experience a minor thaw, another notable collapse happened: Celsius, Three Arrows Capital, and more recently, FTX. Approaching the end of 2022, it appears that the same negative sentiments are likely to remain. While some analysts say that Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) derivatives are currently flashing positive signals for the market due to their high volatility, that same volatility is impacting the sentiment of…

After discovering that ten holding firms associated with FTX Digital and Alameda Research invested roughly $5.4 billion into nearly 500 firms and projects, people have been curious about a few specific investments. One specific investment made by FTX Ventures Ltd. was for $25 million into the Ohio-based firm 80 Acres, a company that specializes in vertical farming. It seems that 80 Acres Farms was partnered with a Bahamian hydroponic producer called Eeden Farms, and Ryan Salame, the co-chief executive officer of FTX Digital Markets, toured 80 Acres farm in Ohio…
Paradigm releases ‘Ethereum for Rust’ to help ensure network stability
Web3 investment firm Paradigm has released a Rust implementation of Ethereum, according to a Dec. 7 announcement from the company’s chief technology officer, Georgios Konstantopoulos. The new software, called “Reth,” allows Ethereum validators to launch their nodes using Rust instead of Go, Java, or other programming languages. A previous Rust implementation had been released in June, but developers stopped supporting it in November when they learned that Reth was under development, according to a post by the Erigon team. In the announcement, Konstantopoulos stated that the software has been released in…
US Lawmakers Want Environmental Agency to Study Crypto Mining’s Energy Impact
“Crypto-asset mining operations … are often designed to generally increase computing requirements over time, which can lead to increased energy consumption,” the bill said. “A crypto-asset network, Bitcoin, consumes more energy annually than countries such as Chile or Bangladesh consume.” Source
2022 Is the Year Crypto Embraced Mobile – Opinion by Boyd Cohen
Metaverse projects also emerged on the global stage this year as well as a seminal book on the field: “The Metaverse,” by Matthew Ball. Yet, despite all the buzz around virtual worlds, my bet is 10 years from now most of the world will not own VR goggles but will be leveraging mobile tech and still engaging in the real world, albeit increasingly enhanced with AR, more than virtual worlds with goggles on.
