Fidelity, VanEck and other moguls re-file bitcoin ETF applications

Several major investment firms have refiled their applications for spot bitcoin ETFs with the SEC, naming Coinbase as their exchange partner. Fidelity, WisdomTree, VanEck, and Invesco/Galaxy have all submitted applications. A spot bitcoin ETF would allow investors to get exposure to BTC without holding the token. ETFs allow investors to gain exposure to bitcoin, the world’s number one cryptocurrency, without holding the digital asset. Kraken receives court order to turn over customer data to IRS

Crypto exchange Kraken has been asked by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) through a federal court order to provide account and transactional information. Slovakia approves lower crypto income tax rate

Slovakian lawmakers have passed legislation to regulate and reduce the tax rate on cryptocurrency income. Under the new law, crypto income from assets held for at least a year will be taxed at a favorable rate of 7%, aligning Slovakia with other crypto-friendly countries such as Slovenia and Switzerland.
