NYSE Arca, a subsidiary of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) Group, wants to list and operate a trust based on Bitcoin (BTC) exchange-traded products (ETP). In a rule change proposal with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), NYSE Arca proposed to list shares of the Bitwise Bitcoin ETP Trust. Direxion Withdraws Application for Short Bitcoin Futures ETF

Exchange-traded fund (ETF) issuer Direxion has withdrawn its application to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to list a short bitcoin futures fund. On Tuesday, Direxion requested the SEC to withdraw the ETF application it made on Oct. 26. SEC staff had asked for the filing be withdrawn on the day it was filed. Connecticut jury finds crypto-related products are not securities

A Connecticut Jury has found that digital assets linked to cryptocurrencies are not securities in what a defense lawyer called a world-first verdict.  GAW Miners investor Stuart Fraser was cleared of liability in a fraudulent operation co-opted by ZenMiner LLC on Nov. 1.  “It’s the first case that we know of where a jury addressed whether cryptocurrency products were securities,” one of the defendant’s representatives, Daniel Weiner from Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP, told Law360.  The case against GAW Miners has been underway since 2017, when co-founder Homero Joshua Garza…

The UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) opened a joint investigation into the personal information handling practices of Clearview AI Inc in July 2020.
