Global investment platform eToro is rolling out its crypto wallet called the eToro wallet, a mobile application available on Google Play and the Apple App Store. The wallet provides an easy-to-use customer interface and enhanced security, allowing users to see their on-blockchain transactions and balances without the fear of losing their private key.

The Port Authority of Valencia has been integrated into the TradeLens project, a blockchain solution jointly developed by IBM and shipping giant Maersk. The TradeLens ecosystem currently includes more than 20 port operators and terminals around the world, representing approximately 234 seaports on five continents. The TradeLens reduces the transit time of a shipment by 40%, according to the data collected by the system.

The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange has issued a thought paper on infrastructure for crypto and distributed ledger environment, and financial market infrastructures. The thought paper is issued in cooperation with the Central Securities Depositories and under the patronage of the International Securities Service Association. ADX aims to identify the technical and operational criteria required to issue crypto-assets, as well as provide a reliable reference to support financial institutions in managing the transition of the issuance of traditional and crypto-assets.

Coinchase, a new blockchain crowdfunding platform that claims to be a community-focused platform in the spirit of Kickstarter and Indiegogo, has launched Break and Return Insurance for users who participate in the crowdfunding of its projects. If the average price of a project’s token falls below the crowdfunding price in the first 48 hours of the first exchange listing, users can choose to notify Coinchase for 100% restitution of their investment, the platform said in a statement.

York-based blockchain technologies firm Blocktech and the French University of Armenia have partnered to launch Armenia’s first academic Blockchain Lab. The lab will conduct research into the crypto-economic implications of blockchain technologies, in collaboration with the university’s departments of Finance and Law, as well as the newly-formed Department of Informatics and Applied Mathematics. The research will cover topics relating to decentralized application architectures, including smart contract development, bonding curves, token-curated registries, oracle and curation services on the Zap platform, and crypto-economic design patterns.

Meanwhile, Kingsland University is forming a partnership with fintech management consultancy Legacy Capital to offer its internationally-recognized blockchain developer courses in Mauritius. The university will offer its full course list in Mauritius, including blockchain developer and executive education courses.
