Popular British actress, Maisie Williams, who made her name through the hit HBO series, Game of Thrones, asked her over 2 million Twitter followers for advice on Bitcoin, appears to have taken an interest in the crypto industry. As expected, a tsunami of comments from the crypto twitter community came her way.
Crypto Twitter Had a Lot to Say
Most of the respondents to the poll advised her against investing in the crypto asset. According to the press time statistics from the poll, over 54% of the 856,000+ votes were against buying Bitcoin.
On the bright side, one can safely assume, to some degree, that the majority of the GoT star’s followers are no-coiners who barely know anything about Bitcoin besides what mainstream media says. With that in mind, having nearly half the votes in favor of buying Bitcoin could be interpreted as a positive occurrence.
And as expected, Maisie’s tweet has also generated boatloads of comments from Bitcoin enthusiasts who were quick to proffer their opinion.
Galaxy Digital CEO Mike Novogratz simply said, “Duh!!” and that the “network effect” is already at full speed. The Moon, a crypto YouTuber, gave his personal advice, stating that Bitcoin could reach “over $100,000 within 2 years.”
Some of the respondents could be seen to be paying homage to her role in the GoT series. Most of them were making reference to her role and offering her explanation on how the industry works while Elon Musk only joked around.
Other Celebrities Supporting Bitcoin
Award-winning writer of the Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling, had asked a Bitcoin reporter last May on how the crypto asset works. However, upon the hundreds of explanations offered to the author about the coin, she was still unable to grab the cusp of how it operates.
The inability of the author to understand the coin operation method has left some wondering if the coin is actually difficult to understand or if the author is just not technically inclined.
Unlike Maisie and Rowling who were merely asking questions, many popular figures have already thrown their weight behind the cryptocurrency.
Gwyneth Paltrow, an Academy award-winning actress, once shared an article on how to invest in Bitcoin on her blog.
Hip hop rapper, Snoop Dogg has also made an appearance at a crypto party, which shows that he is also an adherent of the crypto industry. Others include Paris Hilton, Ashton Kutcher, Hugh Laurie, and many more.
