This abandoned mine had it all — collapsed tunnels, hidden areas, unusual miners’ graffiti, and a magnificent double ore chute coming down the mountainside. Tom, Julie, and I once again teamed up to explore and document this abandoned talc mine before it’s lost forever. Here in Part 1 we mainly stay on the rather extensive main level with its many branching tunnels, collapses, and sketchy timbers with creative miners’ graffiti. Near the end, we climbed up an inclined shaft that led to an upper level in the mine where we found a somewhat hidden area that led to even more extensive workings and artifacts — proof that we were probably the first ones in that section of the mine in a long time! All of that will be featured in Part 2 which will be available for viewing on Monday, April 13th at 10:00 AM Pacific Time.

Be sure to catch the exciting sneak peek previews of Part 2 at the end of this video!

Tom and Julie’s excellent YouTube channel is here: Check ’em out for their abandoned mine explorations as well as their many, many hikes in the mountains, forests, and deserts of the western and southwestern United States.
