Litecoin Becomes Official Cryptocurrency Partner Of UFC Fight

Litecoin will be the Official Cryptocurrency Partner of Ultimate Fighting Championship or UFC 232, according to a blog post by the Litecoin Foundation. The partnership is part of its efforts to expand the adoption of digital currencies, it said.

The Foundation will sponsor the UFC light heavyweight title fight between Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson this Saturday evening in California. As part of the partnership, the logo of the digital asset will be displayed around the Octagon, exposing the currency to millions of viewers around the world.

Litecoin Foundation said, “With brands and institutions continuing to push into cryptocurrency and blockchain, this is yet another signal of this technology moving closer towards the mainstream.”

The post also stated that the Foundation expects that UFC 232 is the start of a long and fruitful relationship between the UFC and LTC.

In recent times, Litecoin reportedly has partnered with various firms and brands.

Litecoin, with a limited supply of 84,000,000 LTC, was released in 2011 by former Coinbase engineering director Charlie Lee. Litecoin is not centrally managed, while the Foundation develops its network.
