June 18, 2019 by Art Rozenbaum
After months of planning, preparation, and eager anticipation by everyone in the South Florida crypto community, Blockchain Center Miami had its grand opening on Friday 14th June, and is now officially open for business! The Blockchain Center is located in the heart of downtown Miami. It will serve as a venue for community events and talks, as well as provide various types of office space for crypto related projects and startups.

A Crypto-Star Studded Event
The launch party was a spectacular success. In typical Miami fashion, there was great dance music by DJ Yissel, plenty of drinks, and amazing food. It attracted many of the high profile crypto personalities that are local to South Florida, as well as some who flew in especially for the event. Even the mayor of Miami himself made it a point to be at the ribbon cutting and to present the Blockchain Center with a Certificate of Recognition.
The core team that made the Blockchain Center possible includes Scott Spiegel, Eryka Gemma Flores, and Nick Spanos. While the focus of the Center is global in terms of being in the crypto industry, it is still focused on serving the various local Miami and South Florida crypto communities. Spanos’s first center was featured in the Netflix documentary Banking on Bitcoin. Launched in 2013, the Bitcoin Center NYC is the world’s first physical cryptocurrency exchange, and is located just 100 feet from the New York Stock Exchange.
“The Miami blockchain center will help to unleash the minds of the Latin American youth”– Nick Spanos
“This is exciting and surreal, even though we are pushing for decentralization it is going to prove itself invaluable to have a physical space. We are changing the narrative and sentiment around Bitcoin and blockchain while creating opportunities for the people of Miami”-Eryka Gemma Flores
Naturally, after the party was the afterparty. It was held at a bar with full view of the Blockchain Center building. The organizers took advantage of this and used their building as a massive screen to project Banking on Bitcoin, a documentary about the history, benefits, and revolutionary features of Bitcoin. Not only did the guests at the afterparty enjoy this, but all the people on the street were exposed to Bitcoin as well. Going forward, it is planned to have a projection on the side of the building, constantly showing price movements and the latest crypto related news.
Blockchain Center Offers Many Services
The Blockchain Center will be the go-to venue for crypto related events in Miami and the surrounding South Florida region. It offers event space with beautiful views overlooking downtown Miami, as well as various co-working options, private offices, and even entire floors for those crypto companies that are ready to take their business to the next level. Of course, sponsorship opportunities are available as well. Crypto whales and companies looking to expose their brands to the Florida crypto community are encouraged to contact the Center.
