Ben Mauro conducted the sale for his special EVOLUTION series representing both – Ben’s evolution as an artist as well as the evolution of the creatures. Ben Mauro is the brainchild behind creating some of the most profound characters and futuristic lifeforms. As Mauro writes:
“This project has been 10 years in the making, with some of the creatures such as the ‘Thor’ card dating back to 2011. Ben Mauro has over 12+ years in the game and film industry, working on projects such as Call of Duty, Halo, Metal Gear Solid (film), ELYSIUM, Chappie, The Hobbit Trilogy, Valerian, Mortal Engines, The Amazing Spiderman 2, Man of Steel among many others”.
Interestingly, in one of his recent tweets, Ben Mauro goes on to suggest Fortnite Games sell their skins on NFT marketplaces like OpenSea. He writes:
This is probably already going to happen, but how cool would it be if you could buy/trade/sell your @FortniteGame skins on @opensea as NFT’s. Then when you get that cool Terminator skin you missed you can go back to the game and play with the character you just bought. 👀

NFT Evolution and the Latest Craze Behind It
Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) are basically blockchain-based cryptographic tokens that are not interchangeable. Each NFT is unique in its existence and can’t be duplicated. Because of this, NFTs have become popular in selling digital collectible art and digital games.
The NFTs shot to popularity three years back with the Ethereum-based CryptoKitties game. They have again been in the news over the last few months. During his exclusive interview with Flow Blockchain, Ben Mauro said:
“The NFT ecosystem is incredibly revolutionary to me, it’s something I have been waiting for my entire career as a digital artist. All I care about in life is making the best art possible, but up until now the industry I work in had no clear way to value the digital creations I was making outside of that specific movie set or game.”
Recently, the National Basketball Academy (NBA) partnered with Dapper Labs to create its own version of digital collectibles. On the other hand, the 25-year-old auction house Christie’s successfully conducted the recent sale of digital artwork by Mike “Beeple” Winkelmann using NFTs.
