Rescue efforts continue to reach miners trapped during an explosion at a gold mine in China’s eastern Shandong province on January 10, 2021. More than 20 workers at the Hushan mine in Qixia. More than 20 workers are still trapped over 600 metres (1,970ft) underground. State media reports said that the authorities were only notified 30 hours after the blast, when the mine owner asked for help with a rescue operation.
