American retail giant Walmart has submitted a patent application for a drone communication system that is based on blockchain technology.  Walmart filed its patent with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on Aug. 1. The filing describes a system on a drone that encrypts and stores that drone’s operational parameters. That information is subsequently passed to another drone, which decrypts, reads and then configures to those parameters. EY Hired to Help Develop Blockchain-Based Fine Wine Trading Platform

A blockchain-based fine wine investment trading platform has selected Big Four auditing firm EY to provide technology services as its development continues. IBM Files Patent for a Blockchain-Based Web Browser

A new patent application from IBM describes a blockchain-based web browser. Filed on August 6 by the United States Patent and Trademark Office, IBM’s patent is for a web browser backed by a peer-to-peer network. The browser collects pre-specified information from web browsing sessions, according to the patent. The information is then transferred to a network of peer-to-peer nodes for collection and storage. Media company Live Planet has announced plans to imminently launch a blockchain-based virtual reality network — the Blockchain Virtual Reality (VR) Network — that will be used to host crypto and other blockchain-related content. Two American inventors have won a patent for a blockchain-based recording system for ballistic data.  The United States Patent and Trademark Office awarded two inventors — Jason Palazzolo and Kevin Barnes — a patent for a “firearm environmental recording apparatus and system” on July 23. The United States Department of Defense (DoD) is pursuing blockchain solutions for cybersecurity as part of its digital modernization strategy.
