Twitch Users Want Pokimane Banned for Pornhub Incident – but It Won’t Happen

  • Twitch star Pokimane faces calls to be suspended from the site after accidentally showing pornography during her stream.
  • The streamer opened a tab from PornHub during a stream on May 19, 2020.
  • Some feel that she should face the same punishment as streamers like Alinity and Amouranth, who have also been suspended from Twitch for nudity.

Star Twitch streamer Pokimane had an embarrassing moment in a stream this week.

She accidentally showed pornography during a stream. Pokimane, who has 4.8 million followers on Twitch, (warning: link NSFW) opened a browser tab with a paused PornHub video during her stream on May 19, 2020.

Scarce Suggests No One Else Should Be Banned for Nudity on Twitch

Since the incident, some have called for Pokimane to be suspended from the site. Scarce, who runs a YouTube news channel, suggested that if Pokimane doesn’t get banned for this, then no one else should get banned from Twitch for nudity.

Pokimane’s accident draws comparisons to other female Twitch streamers who have had nudity mishaps. In April, Twitch suspended Alinity for accidentally exposing her nipple. Alinity also faced backlash for not getting a long enough Twitch suspension.

Pokimane Confirms Twitch Has Given Her a Warning

In a stream the next day, Pokimane said that Twitch did give her a warning. She also said that she’s been streaming so long and has had issues before, but because it doesn’t happen often enough, it doesn’t lead to a ban.

However, Pokimane said that if she were to get banned, she would “understand.”

Twitch’s new policy about nudity suggests that she wouldn’t be banned. Each issue is different, and Twitch says that it does understand accidents. That doesn’t mean that Pokimane won’t be suspended for this, but it does make it much more unlikely.
