Eight persons, including four law enforcement officers, were arrested by India’s special investigation team (SIT) in connection to a massive cryptocurrency fraud scheme dating back to 2018. Coinbase officers, board members face suit over alleged insider trading during listing

A Coinbase shareholder has filed a stockholder derivative complaint against some of the company’s executives and board members, claiming they profited from inside information during the company’s public listing. CEO Brian Armstrong and well-known venture capitalists are among the defendants. A stockholder derivative complaint is a suit filed against a company on behalf of its stockholders. Thai Immigration Officers Face Arrest for Kidnapping Chinese National and Demanding Ransom in Cryptocurrency

Four Thai immigration officers are facing arrest after allegedly abducting a Chinese national and extorting thousands of dollars in cryptocurrency. According to reports, the Chinese man, along with his female interpreter, was kidnapped by the officers after falling victim to a scam. The victim was reportedly lured into a fake investment scheme and lost a significant amount of money. UK police council reports there are officers in every unit trained for crypto enforcement

The detective chief superintendent for the United Kingdom’s National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC), Andy Gould, has said all police forces in the country have officers trained for investigations involving the enforcement and seizure of cryptocurrencies. US Treasury to hire crypto policy officers to combat industry crimes

The United States Department of the Treasury is looking for expert advice on cryptocurrencies to tackle legal challenges associated with the industry. The U.S. Treasury’s bureau, Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, or FinCEN, has posted two job applications for crypto policy officers. The agency is seeking professional expertise on crimes related to digital assets.
