Why Is Everyone Suddenly So Cool With Criminal Martha Stewart?

  • Martha Stewart is back with a new line of CBD products.
  • Publications are fluffing up the announcement with nice headlines about Stewart.
  • Did everyone forget why she went to prison?

Martha Stewart is back. And now she’s selling drugs.

That’s right, the iconic homemaker is pushing a new line of CBD edibles, and the press seems delighted to report about it.

It’s strange, considering how quick everyone has been to cancel people, that Martha Stewart is getting a pass.

Martha Stewart Is High on Life – And CBD

Martha Stewart is back in the news cycle for her most recent product. She’s selling a new line of “CBD pâte de fruit.” That’s a fancy word for weed gummies. Check out her ad:

She’s teamed up with cannabis powerhouse Canopy Growth Corporation to create a new line of edibles inspired by some of Stewart’s favorite recipes and ingredients.

Stewart told The New York Times:

I pop 20 of them and just feel OK, but some of my friends do two and feel high, I don’t know why. It’s not high like a marijuana high. It’s a CBD high, like, relaxed.

It must be nice being Martha Stewart.

After swindling the stock market and lying to prosecutors, she’s high on CBD and having a fantastic quarantine.

She did serve her time, so we don’t have to bury her. But it doesn’t explain why the press continues to gush about her.

The Media Has a Crush on America’s Favorite Criminal

The recent NYT article about Stewart is titled, “Martha Stewart, Blissed Out on CBD, Is Doing Just Fine.”

The author calls her a “goddess” and proceeds to walk us through a typical fairy-tail day on her 153-acre farm. Will she drink a “Martha-rita”? Only if she has guests!

Another publication, The Zoe Report, calls her “the hostess with the mostest,” and the “queen of entertaining.”

Delish exclaims that Martha can “truly do it all,” and that “we simply must bow down.

Must we?

Haven’t we been bowing down to corrupt billionaires for far too long? Why should we promote this woman who was accused of insider trading? Since when do ‘goddesses’ sell their stock in a company right before it plummets and then lie to prosecutors about it?

Others Are Treated Differently

And why does The New York Times give her every pass in the world when they crucify people who’ve committed similar acts? After Richard Burr and Kelly Loeffler sold their stocks ahead of the coronavirus plunge, the NYT said

They could have made a difference, but they made a profit.

There are no gushy follow up stories about Loeffler’s favorite recipes or a refreshing “mar-Burr-ita.”

Martha Stewart is still so focused on money that she won’t even endorse a presidential candidate.

She could be making a difference, but she’s making a profit instead.

And these media outlets could paint us an honest picture, but instead, they choose to gloss over the truth.
